In 2023, when I contacted the publisher—not only refused to even consider a reprint—in fact ordered the unsold copies incinerated, I felt an overwhelming sense of loss. To imagine that such a remarkable educational resource could vanish was unbearable. From the outset, I resolved that a mission had to be undertaken  to preserve and resurrect this work of truth about the Shoah, ensuring that it remains available as both an historic chronicle and teaching tool for generations to come.

This is not a commercial endeavor. It is a nonprofit project dedicated solely to remembrance, education, and the fight against denial and distortion. I personally financed the return of this second edition to make certain that this essential work would not be lost.

But this is only the beginning. To keep this book in circulation, and to expand our efforts to safeguard and disseminate other vital Holocaust works, a Foundation will be established to welcome and rely on donations from those who share in this mission. Together, we can ensure that this book, and other works that preserve truth, will continue to reach new generations.

The reappearance of this book is especially timely. In the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel and amid the rising tide of global antisemitism, the need to defend historical truth is greater than ever. We are now receiving several hundred copies of this second edition, and with them, we renew the commitment to remembrance and truth that lies at the heart of both this book and the mission of the Holocaust Book Foundation.

May this work serve as both a memorial and a guide—a testament to what must never be forgotten, and a tool to ensure that the truth of the Holocaust continues to be taught with clarity, respect, and urgency.
